====== Backups ====== All of your board is files, so a backup is a copy of the right folders. ===== What to copy ===== ^ Folder ^ Why ^ | The data folder (''Configs'', ''MSGBASE'' and so on) | Your settings, users and messages. This is the most important copy. | | ''FILES'' and ''PVTFILES'' | The files you offer and the private files of users. | | ''MENUS'', ''TXTFILES'', ''RIP'' | Your menus and screens. | | ''PEX'' and the program files | Only if you have programs you built yourself. | | ''LOGS'' | If you need the history. | Stop the nodes before copying, or at least copy from a quiet moment. A user file copied while callers are online may be missing recent changes. ===== The backups ProBoard makes for you ===== ^ Folder ^ Made by ^ | ''PBInstall_Backups'' | PBInstall, before it changes a system. | | ''PBUpgrade_Backups'' | The PBConfig Upgrade Data tools, before they convert or repair. | | ''Update\Backup'' | PBDispatch, before a program update (the newest five are kept). | | ''LOGS\Archive'' | Log rotation. | These are safety nets for those jobs. They are not a replacement for your own backups.
