Maintenance
A board needs a little regular care. In v4 most of it can be automated.

* PBUtil: the maintenance toolbox. Pack the user file, pack message bases, remove old users, rebuild indexes, update download counters.
* A maintenance routine: what to run, and how often.
* Backups: what to copy and when.
* Message avatars are managed with PBAvatar, a command-line tool. See Programs.
* Program updates are covered under Installing and upgrading.
