Files and transfers

ProBoard keeps files in file areas. A caller browses an area from the menu, downloads files from it and uploads new ones. In v4 the same areas can also be reached by FTP and, if you turn it on, by the web portal.

File areas: how areas and their listings are organised.
Transfer protocols: what the caller can use to send and receive.
Download rules: limits, ratios, free files and how a download is charged. The same rules apply on the BBS, over FTP and on the web.
File echoes: receiving files from other boards with PBTic.

Where callers can get files

On the BBS (Telnet, SSH, RLogin, PBTerm)	Uses the protocols you define. This is the classic way.
